Redwood Cooperative School's summer camp counselors and teachers provide direct supervision of children (rising Prek-6th) and are responsible for the successful implementation of quality care throughout the summer.
The summer camp counselors and teachers will work in collaboration with other staff to provide programs that foster children’s social, physical, and emotional growth; and ensure the health, welfare and safety of the program. They must be warm and welcoming to all campers and families in the program.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with students and fostering enthusiasm for play and engagement. Responsibilities include planning implementing themed activities, games, and crafts. This position is perfect for someone looking for practice in those areas. Summer Camp counselors will be outside the majority of their working hours (weather permitting). All summer camp counselors and teachers are required to complete and attend all camp trainings and open houses.
- Experience or familiarity with Positive Discipline
- Skills in supporting social-emotional growth and facilitating conflict resolution with campers, and being in respectful partnership with parents
- Self-motivated, self-disciplined, professional, and energetic
- Ability to work as part of a close-knit team
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two years of childcare experience
