Rutgers Preparatory School is a premier independent school in New Jersey and offers four languages in the Upper School: Spanish, French, Latin, and Chinese. The school is looking for a dynamic, self-starting secondary school Spanish educator as part of its ongoing commitment to global citizenship.
Summary of Position:
Full-time language teachers at Rutgers Prep teach five sections. Teaching duties will consist of five sections of Spanish (two sections of Spanish 1, three sections of Spanish 2). A full-time teaching load will include teaching Spanish and being an advisor.
The successful candidate will be a personable and committed secondary school educator who is enthusiastic about not just Spanish, but also about World Language education in general. Upper School teachers are fully invested members of the community—in addition to teaching duties, each faculty member advises about ten students, sponsors at least one club or activity, and is present and involved in the daily life of the school and its students. Academic excellence, availability for extra help, and communication between the school and home are hallmarks of a Rutgers Prep education.
