Position Overview: Seacrest is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cross-Country Coach to join our athletic department. The ideal candidate will support the cross-country program, including training, mentoring, and guiding student-athletes to achieve their full potential both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement training programs and practice schedules that align with the team's goals and objectives.
Provide instruction and feedback on running techniques, endurance training, and race strategies.
Support student-athletes in setting and achieving personal and team performance goals.
Attend all practices, meets, and team events, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
Organize and supervise team travel, including transportation, accommodations, and meals.
Help manage and maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good condition.
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field.
Experience running cross country competitively.
Knowledge of nutrition and injury prevention for long-distance runners.
Previous coaching experience in cross country or a related sport, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
Strong knowledge of cross-country training techniques, race strategies, and conditioning.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best.
Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
Ability to pass a background check and meet all school and state requirements for coaching.
Compensation:
Coaching opportunities are contract-based positions and are paid a predetermined stipend amount.
Fingerprinting and background checks are a required part of the Seacrest employment eligibility process.
