Sinai Akiba Academy seeks dynamic, committed, and creative individuals for opportunities as Teaching Assistants in our Lower School (kindergarten through 5th grade). TAs work alongside an experienced lead teacher and are responsible for assisting the teacher in teaching curriculum, preparing instructional materials, working with small groups of students, and supporting the students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. TAs also work closely with other Staffulty members and TAs to support and supervise students as they transition between classes and activities, during recess and lunch periods, and at other academic and non-academic times. Teaching Assistants participate in the school community including implementing RULER and Responsive Classroom practices in the classroom and other school settings, collaborating with other Staffulty on interdisciplinary projects, and participating in faculty meetings and professional development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Model the school's philosophy in working with students, teachers, and administration
Work with the teachers and administrators to carry out the academic program: curriculum and instruction support, classroom management, and supervision duties on campus and online via Zoom when necessary
Demonstrate professionalism, including discretion, judgment, and integrity
Collaborate with others and be a contributing team member
Support online learning platforms (Zoom, SeeSaw) as needed
Support the emotional and social development of each student
Support students in achieving their full potential of development and growth, through observation of students' behavior and needs
Attend and participate in the following: services, faculty in-service meetings, student assemblies, and other school functions, as requested
Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other specified non-teaching times
Embrace and model Sinai Akiba’s mission statement and Core Values
Complete additional tasks in support of Sinai Akiba’s mission, as directed by the Director of Student Life & Experiential Learning and/or Head of School
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
A love of elementary school students is a must
Prior experience working with school aged children
College courses in child/developmental psychology or related coursework is beneficial
Proficiency with Google Suite (Google Calendar, Google Docs) and adept computer skills
Hebrew reading, speaking and writing skills preferred, but not required
Outstanding communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing
Ability to positively collaborate with partner teachers and colleagues
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to engage professionally and positively with colleagues, students and families
Ability to work on campus weekdays 7:30AM - 3:45PM
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Hourly Rate Range: $21.00 - $30.00

In the spirit of pay transparency we share the hourly rate range for this position: $21.00 - $30.00. The hourly rate range is exclusive of fringe benefits, retirement plan employer contributions or potential stipends (for eligible employees). Pay ranges at SAA are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at SAA, your final hourly rate will be determined by factors such as skills, education, experience, job level, part-time status and number of months of work per academic year. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full hourly rate range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical for SAA in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
