Training and experience in guided reading and readers’ and writers’ workshops (Fountas & Pinnell; Calkins) are preferred. Candidates further should be committed to manipulative and concept-based mathematics instruction, social-emotional learning, and an integrated, project approach to social studies (Katz, Chard). Job responsibilities include: Teaching homeroom class including language arts, mathematics, and, social studies. Lead morning meeting using a responsive classroom approach.
