Founded in 1921, St. Margaret's School is one of the six Episcopal Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia. It is the only boarding and day girls school on the banks of the Rappahannock River. The school’s main campus includes 1000 feet of river frontage in downtown Tappahannock, VA, its unique location provides a fantastic experience for all who love the Chesapeake watershed and the safety and convenience of small-town living. Coffee shops, ice cream fountains, and antique and drug stores are a short walk from campus. The school is also an easy drive to Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Hampton Roads. Washington, D.C. is accessible with a two-hour excursion by train or car. The school seeks educators who will inspire girls to reach their full potential and make a better world. The school's new S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, River, Engineering, Arts, and Math) program is a conscious decision to see students in the field with hands-on learning experiences.
