The Payroll, Benefits, and Human Resource Manager is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for managing all aspects of monthly payroll processing, benefits administration, and supports human resource functions. This role also provides human resources support to faculty and staff as needed. The position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
The ideal candidate is one who brings experience in compensation, payroll, and benefits along with a curiosity to modernize process and procedures. This position serves our valued faculty and staff, which requires the ability to demonstrate empathy and tact when handling sensitive employee matters.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll and Benefits (85%):
Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including collecting, calculating and inputting payroll data for all employees.
Collaborate with HR, finance and other departments to gather and validate payroll information, such as new hires, terminations, promotions and salary changes.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies while processing payroll.
Administer and maintain Paylocity payroll system, ensure data integrity and implement system upgrades and enhancements.
Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies, investigating and resolving issues promptly and accurately.
Administer SMA’s health, dental, vision, and life insurance offerings.
Collaboratively works with the Director of Human Resources to facilitate open enrollment.
Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.
Oversee employee leave balances and FAMLI paid leave.
Human Resource (15%):
Assist the Director of Human Resources with employee lifecycle tasks and other general HR functions as required.
Manage FAMLI leave.
Responsible for completing a variety of required state and local reports as well as census reports for insurance carriers.
Facilitate background checks.
Complete job verification requests.
Salary /Benefits:
The pay range for this full-time, 12-month exempt position is $55,000 - $65,000. St. Mary’s Academy provides excellent benefits, including up to 53 paid days off during the year including vacation, personal, school breaks and federal holiday. Qualifications/Requirements:
Education and qualifications should include the following:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
At least three years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
Proficiency in payroll software and systems.
Knowledge of compensation and benefits packages.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and management skills.
