Staten Island Academy seeks applicants for the position of full-time Math and Science teacher (Grades 5 and 6) for the 2025-2026 academic year. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
Ideal candidates will have three to five years of middle school teaching experience in math and/or science using an inquiry-based pedagogy, and a demonstrated passion for teaching young adolescents. Working with a skilled team, the teacher will bring creativity and imagination to building a meaningful, outcomes oriented curriculum for students of varied skill levels, subject backgrounds and learning profiles. The teacher in this position will also serve as an academic advisor. At the Academy, advisors work closely with deans, school counselors, learning specialists and families to provide wrap-around support for a group of 8-12 students.
