Our fast growing school is looking for a full-time HR & Operations Manager to support our operations.
Job Description
Human Resources (60%)
- Manage end-to-end recruiting:
o Write and post recruiting ads,
o Preselect applicants,
o Organize applicant interviews with other staff members,
o Prepare, collect, and archive agreements and other paper work
o Conduct onboarding
- Organize and maintain personnel records
- Update internal databases (e.g. record sick or maternity leave)
- Prepare HR templates, such as employment agreements and new hire guides
- Revise company policies and staff handbook
- Establish new processes when needed
- Liaise with external partners, like insurance vendors, and ensure legal compliance
- Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates)
- Answer employees’ queries about HR-related issues
- Keep track of staff absences (sick days, time off, etc.)
- Assist payroll processing by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)
- Process expense forms
- Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event)
- Perform other tasks as required
Operations (40%)
- Manage all school scheduling for special events, field trips, transportation, maintenance, playgrounds and cleaning
- Ensure proper student / teacher ratio in classrooms at all times by tracking staff absences and finding replacements
- Create and apply school safety plan: disaster preparation, fire drills, student, staff and public safety, and student health.
- Assist with licensing obligations and record keeping as needed
- Revise and updates handbooks (e.g. parents)
- Ensure space is clean and tidy by supervising cleaning crew
- Ensure technology and communication work (phones, computers, printers)
- Perform other tasks as required such as fire drills, yearbook coordination, etc
Skills
- BS in Human Resources or relevant field
- Proven work experience as an HR Administrator, HR Administrative Assistant or relevant role
- Knowledge of labor laws
- First language English
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
- Ability to multitask
- Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)
