Summary Description:
Bishop’s Human Resources Coordinator’s overall responsibility is to support and assist Bishop’s Director of Human Resources with managing the human resources department’s daily operations and activities. The primary responsibilities are to serve as a point of responsibility and contact for internal and external key stakeholders for hiring & onboarding, time cards, leave of absences, and benefit questions.
Anticipated Base Compensation Depending on Experience: $55,000 - $63,000 per annum
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. At least two years of human resources experience in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment. Knowledge of California regulations as applicable to the field of human resources. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize with the appropriate level of urgency. Highly proficient at managing multiple priorities and accomplishing simultaneous demands while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills essential.

Essential Functions and Specific Duties:
Benefits & Leaves
- Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits questions, including COBRA, FMLA, CFRA, disabilities, extended leave of absences, etc.
- Administer all benefit plans for enrollment, billing, reconciliation, etc.
- Handle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolutions.
- Maintain contact in person, phone, or email with internal key partners and other parties as needed to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
- Supervise maintenance and accuracy of human resources records, benefits enrollment, as well as application and claims records for all benefits plans.
- Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and report necessary or suggested changes to management.
Onboarding
- Provide guidance and support to hiring managers throughout the School’s recruitment and hiring processes.
- Manage and execute all hiring offers of employment efforts including onboarding, and screening processes in accordance with federal and state employment regulations.
- Provide timely support for all newly hired employees throughout the hiring and onboarding process.
- Manage all compliance pieces of the onboarding process including DOJ records and working collaboratively with internal partners.
Time & Attendance
- Serve as a liaison between payroll and HR department regarding all timecard and payroll questions
- Communicate regularly with the payroll department
- Audit, evaluate and submit for processing semi-monthly time cards for payroll processing
- Respond to inquiries from various departments and employees regarding timecard information and regulations
Human Resources Administration
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding workflow, including exit interviews
- Oversee maintenance and organization of filing systems including confidential human resources and payroll and archived records.
- Create, update and maintain HR forms and ensure efficient availability of these.
- Assist with providing properly authorized information from personnel or payroll records including verification of employment.
- Research information to assist with problem solving in all areas of human resources and payroll.
- Assist in the administration of all HR policies, procedures and practices ensuring that the school complies with employment, safety, labor relations, EEO and other state and federal required practices.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing offer letters and processing transfers, promotions and terminations.
- Compile orientation, anniversary, benefits and other information reports
- Work closely with the payroll department on all questions related to benefits, onboarding and other associated tasks.
