The Bryn Mawr School seeks a full time, growth-minded upper school chemistry teacher, who is also capable of teaching biology, to begin August, 2023. Responsibilities include teaching several sections of chemistry and biology at varying levels, teaching, advising a small group of students, and serving as a member of dynamic faculty and departmental teams. A strong educational background with experience teaching upper school chemistry and/or biology and a genuine desire to teach and learn from young adults are required.
The goal of the Bryn Mawr School science curriculum is to have all students experience the excitement of science as well as to appreciate natural processes. To that end, all courses are laboratory-oriented and stress the ability of the student to perform valid inquiry exercises.
Candidates should have interest in teaching highly motivated girls at a school that values not only intellectual pursuits but also building strong relationships and community. We are looking for an energetic educator who will feel true excitement about immersing themselves in our independent school community.
