ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Create and steward the implementation of
the school’s K–12 DEI Plan — reviewing
and refreshing the Plan annually, establishing
benchmarks for measuring plan effectiveness,
developing tactical steps for achieving benchmarks,
collaborating with those directly responsible
for achieving plan goals, reporting results, and
managing the diversity program budge
• Serve as a member of and act as the staff liaison
for the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee
(DEI) of the Board of Trustees
• Support the Head of School in achieving the goals
in his annual work plan
• Create opportunities to promote, foster and
celebrate DEI at Bush among the school’s
constituents — including, students, Trustees,
faculty, staff, administrative group, parents/
guardians, and alumnae/i
• Provide guidance and work closely with each
division’s Faculty/Staff DEI Committee
• Attend meetings of the school’s Senior Leadership
Team and collaborate with the Administrative
Group, faculty, staff, and students to forward the
initiatives of the Diversity Plan
• Collaborate with the Division Directors, Assistant
Head of School, and Director of Human
Resources in the recruitment and hiring of faculty
and staff. This includes, but is not limited to
participating in hiring fairs, traveling to recruit,
and representing the office on hiring committees
• Collaborate with the Admissions Office in the
recruitment, admission, and retention of students
and families. This includes, but is not limited to,
participating in Admissions Open Houses (internal)
and local community (external) admissions events,
serving on Admissions committees, advising the
Director of Admissions on enrollment decisions,
and serving on enrollment management committees
to support student success
• Develop and provide ongoing professional
development opportunities for faculty to help
them understand the critical nature of DEI in
their pedagogical and curricular practice
Serve as a liaison to student affinity groups that
advance the goals of DEI at The Bush School
. Partner with the Families Association to advance
DEI work within the Association, including, but
not limited to, providing educational (evening)
workshops for families, supporting affinity groups,
hosting and/or attending events that engage
members of the Bush community in building an
inclusive community

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Master’s Degree and at least 3–5 years of related
DEI experience preferred
• Prioritize the school’s DEI objectives, outreach,
and retention efforts over other professional
opportunities
• Training, education, or background in DEI
education, with experience supporting the
development of inclusive communities and
diversity in curricula programs (both in adult and
student communities)
• Represent the best interest of the school, its
mission, strategic priorities
• Strong organizational and management skills with
a proven ability to set priorities, manage multiple
projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a
timely manner
• Strong written and verbal communication
• WIllingness to work weekends and evenings in
order to meet the school’s needs and the team’s
objectives
• Demonstrated success in making a school or
organization better with DEIB practice
• Previous experience as an administrator required
• Ability to understand curricula (teaching
experience a plus)
• Experience in K–12 schools required and
experience executing DEI programming outside of
schools welcomed
