Custodial Worker

Job Summary
The Custodial Worker performs cleaning and minor maintenance functions under the supervision of the Facilities Manager to ensure the proper upkeep of the physical plant and campus grounds.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively support the mission of The Fletcher School in the execution of his/her role and responsibilities.
- Maintain general building cleanliness by cleaning bathrooms, drinking fountains, walls, floors, windows, doors, trash receptacles and furniture.
- Perform floor maintenance as scheduled.
- Assist Facilities Manager with event preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Duties
- The Custodial Worker is responsible for using safe practices and methods in the performance of their duties.
- The Custodial Worker is responsible for correcting or reporting any conditions within the building or on grounds that may be hazardous to employees, students, or staff.
- Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 3:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.
- Summer hours and responsibilities may differ from school year hours and duties.
Qualifications
- Experience in custodial services.
- Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment, including floor scrubber and buffer.
- Working knowledge of safe practices in use of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to interact positively with students, administrators, co-workers, parents and community.
- Prior experience in an educational or similar institution preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

The Fletcher School is a non-profit, independent school offering a comprehensive educational program designed to build the academic, social and emotional competence of students with specific learning disabilities and/or ADHD. The program enables students in grades K-12 to experience success and embrace their unique talents.
