The John Cooper School is looking for a Director of Auxilllary Programs for the school year 2025-2026. The Director of Auxiliary Programs reports to the Head of Lower School and works closely with the Lower School administrative team, faculty, support staff, and parents. They are responsible for the administration and supervision of the Lower School Extended Day program, and all after-school activities, including clubs and 2nd—5th Grade study halls. The Director is also responsible for the administration and supervision of the School’s summer Discovery Camp.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create, curate, and oversee the School’s Extended Day program and summer Discovery Camp operations.
Create and maintain all records, budgets, and rosters as required by the School.
Coordinate with the School’s leadership to develop financially sustainable and profitable programming.
Prepare appropriate summary reports for the Head of Lower School, Associate Head of School, and Head of School as needed
Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff and retain teachers to organize and run the programs
Foster safe and secure environment for the Extended Day programs and Discovery Camp.
Coordinate with the School’s leadership to align, support, and implement programs in accordance with the School’s strategic plan and mission.
Oversee day-to-day operations of Extended Day program and summer Discovery Camp
Provide meaningful, timely, and thoughtful communication with parents, faculty, and community
Seek and build mutually beneficial community partnerships
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower School

Required to walk; stoop, kneel or crouch; reach with hands and arms
Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 90% walking, and standing
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should hold a Master’s Degree
Independent school teaching experience
Independent school administrative experience is preferred
Candidates should strongly identify with the School’s mission, philosophy, and goals
