Ursuline Academy is a Catholic, independent, college-preparatory for young women in grades 7 -12, located in Dedham, MA. We are accepting applications for an enthusiastic and creative full-time Director of Innovation and Design to assist its teachers as they integrate the principles of design thinking and project-based learning into the School’s curriculum. Reporting directly to the Principal, a member of the Faculty Council, this individual serves as the primary ambassador for Ursuline's design thinking efforts, its maker program, and its 1,500 square-foot I.D.E.A. Hub. Successful candidates will possess qualities that enable them to collaborate with, teach, and coach faculty, working collegially with teachers to design dynamic and interactive student-centered lessons focused on problem-solving. A tactile person who loves to build will best contribute to a “maker” culture that cultivates empathy, openness, curiosity, self-advocacy, creativity, iteration, innovation, tinkering, and entrepreneurship. Most importantly, the preferred individual will appreciate working in a faith-filled community with highly motivated young women who are passionate about the projects they undertake in the iHub. The ideal candidate will champion Ursuline's mission in all work with students, parents, faculty, and staff, demonstrating a commitment to advancing the Academy’s core values by modeling integrity, professionalism, curiosity, responsibility, creativity, humility, and respect for all persons.
