Wakefield School, located in The Plains, Virginia, seeks a dynamic and innovative Middle and Upper School teacher who loves working with young people to serve as a long-term substitute teacher beginning January 2025. This temporary full-time position includes teaching high school and middle school classes in the World Language Department (Latin), as well as advising 8-10 students. The ideal candidate would have independent school teaching experience, a degree in relevant fields of study including Latin or Classics, and be committed to ongoing professional development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Embrace progressive teaching methods in curriculum and instruction and be willing to serve through a spring semester maternity leave in the Latin classroom.
Authentically engage with students embracing the unique culture of Wakefield School.
Serve as an advisor and advocate for students including academic and personal growth needs of assigned advisees.
Serve as an engaged faculty member collaborating with others in setting the professional practices and curriculum for the school.
