Westover is seeking a highly motivated, community-oriented, culturally aware, and well-organized individual to serve as the Rasin Center Associate for the 2023-24 school year. Reporting to the Director of the Rasin Center, this individual will work closely with all members of the school community as part of the Rasin Center team to support the logistical and programming needs of the Center, as well as the students and faculty which it serves.
The Rudolph S. Rasin Center for Global Justice’s mission focuses on ensuring our community engages with the world beyond Westover and inspires our students to believe they have the power to effect change, to respond to the challenges of our world with courage and creativity, and to find joy and meaning in their efforts. This is executed through experiential learning opportunities locally, nationally and across the globe, environmental sustainability, diversity & inclusion, student leadership, service-learning, and faculty/staff development.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Collaborating with the Rasin Center for Global Justice team to support all-school programming, including traditions and events
-
In partnership with the Global Programs, Experiential Education, and International Student Programs Director, serve as an advocate to the international student community and assists students and their families with connecting to the appropriate resources within the school and community

Maintain exchange program logistics and support exchange students
-
Provide support to some weekend trips and student life activities that assist in accomplishing objectives of the Rasin Center
-
Serve as a liaison and a source of information for international students and ensure that campus services are responsive to the needs of these students.

International student logistics and management support including but not limited to visas, passports, translation needs, and school breaks

Collaborate/partner with other departments in advocating for student needs

Organize and oversee logistics relating to student clubs and organizations including enrollment, meetings, events and budget requests

Support students in navigating the opportunities that exist for them at the Rasin Center

Serve as advisor for International Student Alliance club

Facilitate International Proctor weekly meetings

Social Media support for Rasin Center
The ideal candidate:

Has interest in or experience traveling through study abroad or exchange programs, or as an international student or professional

Is excited by and experienced in (including as a student) organizing co curricular and/or extracurricular activities.

Has a bachelor's degree

Has experience or interest in working in a multilingual/multicultural environment

In possession of or eligibility to acquire a Connecticut Endorsement A license
While this position is part-time (between 40-60% FTE), it can be combined with other opportunities at Westover to create a full-time role.
