Westtown School seeks experienced substitute teachers for our Lower School, Pre-K- 5th grade. Qualified candidates should have an understanding of the cognitive and social-emotional development of elementary school children and be well-versed in interdisciplinary curriculum, project work, and anti-bias curriculum. We are seeking experienced candidates for per diem and longer substitute assignments for the 2023-2024 school year.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required

1-3 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in an independent school setting

Demonstrated passion and joy for working with Lower School students in grades PreK-5

Knowledge of child development and a commitment to social-emotional learning, differentiated instruction, and inquiry and project-based teaching

Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills

A demonstrated commitment to enhancing an inclusive school community based on cultural competence, commitment to social justice, and respect for all voices;

A strong character with a team-oriented spirit, and the ability to connect meaningfully with students throughout our diverse community;
