Winston Preparatory School-NY is searching for an excellent candidate for a full-time History Teacher at the Winston Preparatory School for the remainder of the 2023 school year, with the potential of an opportunity for the 23-24 school year. Below is a bit of background information regarding our school and the position.
Winston Preparatory School is a co-ed day school for 4th through 12th grade students with learning differences such as dyslexia, nonverbal learning disabilities, expressive or receptive language disorders and executive functioning problems. Our mission is to facilitate the independence of individuals with learning difficulties through assessment driven individualized education, research and outreach. Our unique educational program for middle and upper school students with learning differences is designed to develop essential skills and challenge his or her strengths.
The nature of the position and school culture allows for someone with a varied background. In addition to those with an education or special education background, our faculty includes reading specialists, speech therapists, learning specialists, school psychologists, and social workers, as well as former lawyers and copy editors.
The successful candidate will be a highly professional, creative thinker who is flexible and works well within a team environment. Candidates must also have excellent writing and communication skills.

Winston Prep is a highly individualized and responsive setting for high-potential middle and high school students with learning differences such as language based learning disabilities, nonverbal learning disabilities and executive functioning difficulties, with campuses operating in Manhattan, Norwalk, CT Whippany, NJ, Dix Hills, NY, and San Rafael, CA. The Winston Prep program is designed to challenge each student's strengths while developing the essentials of reading, writing, mathematics, organization and study skills. Each individualized education program is based upon a continuously modified understanding of the student's learning profile that evolves as the student progresses and matures.
