Brandon Hall School seeks an experienced and dynamic Director of Marketing and Communications starting July 2022. The position will lead the comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plan for the School. The Director is responsible for coordinating all internal and external efforts to tell the story of Brandon Hall School, increase awareness of the School, and expand the reach and visibility of our brand and mission.The ideal candidate will have residential life and boarding school experience, demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, and bring a positive attitude and energy to the campus.

Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and execute content management strategies and cohesive marketing plans for the school community.
- Work closely with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management and the senior leadership team to develop new strategies for enhancing the existing marketing and communications plan.
- Manage the work of the editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all print, video, and digital content to all major constituencies.
- Maintain and manage the School’s website, including content, appearance and structure, working closely with other departments to ensure pages are consistent with standards for design, content and user experience.
- Oversee and manage official school communications across all media platforms and ensure materials are timely, accurate, and in adherence with the School’s style and brand.
- Develop and oversee a detailed marketing and communications School Calendar.
- Provide support to the Head of School, Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, Assistant Head of School, and departments schoolwide to identify communications, marketing, media, and public relations opportunities to inform and strengthen relationships with parents, students, faculty, alumni, and the greater community.
- Partner with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management and Admissions Office to develop and implement admissions marketing and communications strategies, including outreach to prospective students and families from inquiry to enrollment, and continued support for new students and families to welcome them to our community.
- Own and oversee all brand narrative and content in day-to-day communications, website and social media accounts.
- Oversee the production of all school publications and produce advertisements/campaigns for use in local media.
- Coordinate relationships with all relevant marketing and communications partners, such as print and digital publishers.
- Collaborate with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management on media placement and advertising plans.
- Manage the marketing and communications budget in coordination with the Business Office and remain within the annual allocation.
- Work closely with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management and school leadership, coordinate various community events where staff, students, and parents can market the school.
- Establish growth goals and identify, track, and report the impact of communications with key benchmark data and survey metrics.
- Lead a Marketing & Communications Committee and/or coordinate a group of volunteers (parents, faculty, students) to produce marketing and communication materials to support admissions and advancement goals.
- Perform copywriting, editing, and ghostwriting for school branded materials.
- Assist in communications response in crisis situations.
- Support the Advancement Team in creating and implementing results-oriented fundraising programs and campaigns to strengthen donor engagement and participation.
- Support school event marketing, coordination and day-of execution at both off-campus and on-campus events.
Requirements
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including strong editing skills, with an ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
- Ability to successfully prioritize multiple tasks in an atmosphere where time-sensitive deadlines are the norm
- Demonstrated experience with social media best practices and ability to manage social media accounts
- Relevant experience in a marketing and communications role, preferably in a school setting
- Knowledge of branding concepts and experience in institutional marketing
- Demonstrated knowledge of SEO and experience in website management
- Familiarity with database management and metrics
- Fervent attention to detail, problem solving and strong analytical skills
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
