Collegiate School seeks an Assistant Athletic Director to facilitate the operation and coordination of a large and multifaceted Athletics program. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, dynamic and a relational leader. They will also support the School, Program and the Athletic Director with leadership and management of the overall Program. This is a full-time 12-month benefitted position.
General Responsibilities include:
- Communicate the vision and mission of the program through verbal, written and personal conduct and assure that all programs are conducted according to the policies of the School and that all participants meet our high standards of positive sportsmanship
- Assist the Athletic Director with budget development and maintenance
- Maintain accurate records as needed of equipment / ordering projections, maintenance records and other essential documentation.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure that all part time coaches have completed necessary onboarding
- Collaborates with colleagues on game schedules, facility set ups, transportation schedules, personnel management, inter-office communication and youth sports management.
- Support the efforts of and facilitate the development of the departmental staff
- Insure a safe environment for athletes, coaches and spectators
- Provide administrative management and supervision for athletic events and teams during all three seasons of the year
- Develop, lead and participate in growth opportunities for all departmental constituents
- Assist with seasonal Award Assemblies
- Manage the logistics of NCAA recognition ceremonies throughout the year
- Positively impact the department through coaching or other roles in accordance with expertise
- Serve on School committees as needed (Ex. Coaches’ Committee for Training Rules, Hall of Fame advising, CPAC
- Support Admission and Development initiatives and attend events when appropriate
- Other duties as required
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- A minimum of 6 years of coaching
- Prefer an educational background in athletic administration or prior experience in athletic administration.
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in Gmail and Google software.
- Proven cross cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of others and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging in the ongoing development and maintenance of an inclusive campus community
