Indian Creek School is an independent coeducational day school offering a broad curriculum in the liberal arts. Founded in 1973, Indian Creek School enrolls approximately 550 students in grades Pre-K through twelve from diverse ethnic, racial, religious, and economic backgrounds. This position is a part-time, 12-month remote/hybrid position, reporting to the Director of Advancement, and will be part of a five-person Advancement Office team. On-campus time will be coordinated around Advancement Office, External Affairs Team meetings, and/or special Advancement events.
This individual manages a donor database of over 8,000 constituents and is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all charitable gifts, the complete acknowledgement and thank you process following IRS regulations, and precise maintenance of the school's donor database. He/she proactively provides superior customer service and supports other members of the Advancement Office with activities as assigned. Duties include the support of data analysis, donor identification and solicitation, special event preparation, and other fundraising activities. He or she will be dedicated to utilizing Raiser's Edge to its highest potential as a constituent relationship management tool.
Responsibilities:
- Process and track donations, pledges and matching gifts; preparing deposits, donor receipts and acknowledgements
- Assure integrity of data entered and all donor information into development database
- Manage flow of matching gifts and tribute gifts
- Create queries, imports, exports, and codes for campaigns, funds and appeals on the Raiser's Edge database
- Provide financial, statistical and demographic information and reports to office staff and other departments
- Reconcile the database financial records with the Director of Finance
- Respond to requests for information and assistance promptly
- Assist with the execution of departmental special events
- Coordinate and purchase departmental supplies
- Coordinate departmental calendar
- Manage departmental budget on behalf of the Director of Advancement
- Support all-school data entry as needed
- Support and participate with the External Affairs Team (all advancement, enrollment, marketing and communications personnel)
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Advancement
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures, and principles and techniques of fundraising strongly preferred
- Raiser’s Edge Training and proficiency strongly preferred
- Requires two years general office experience plus up to four years experience in a position of similar responsibility, preferably in a fundraising and/or non-profit setting
- Exceptional organizational skills in managing a complex, growing database; ability to establish priorities, meet competing deadlines, multi-task, troubleshoot, problem-solve and make responsible decisions
- Advanced expertise in Excel, Word including mail merging, Internet and Email applications
- Able to work as part of a team and to interact effectively and professionally with other departments
- Ability to be flexible in response to changing priorities; flexible work hours may be required
- Must be a team player and exercise good judgment, discretion, and diplomacy
- Accurate typing skills and a high degree of attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- React to constantly changing situations in a calm and professional manner.
