The at Staten Island Academy will play a pivotal role in organizing and managing events that foster community engagement, support fundraising efforts, and enhance the school’s visibility and reputation. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Execution:
Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, including fundraisers, community gatherings, alumni events, and school celebrations.
Develop event concepts that align with the Academy's mission and goals.
Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, catering, décor, and transportation.
Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
Provide detailed reports to leadership on event outcomes and fundraising achievements.
Create and manage event budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness while achieving goals.
Collaborate with the Advancement team to identify sponsorship opportunities and secure support from donors and partners.
Communication & Marketing:
Promote events through email campaigns, social media, and other channels.
Draft and distribute event invitations, programs, and other materials.
Community Engagement:
Serve as a liaison between the Academy and event participants, including students, families, alumni, donors, and faculty.
Foster positive relationships with vendors, sponsors, and community partners.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in event planning, preferably in a school, nonprofit, or similar setting.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in event management software and marketing platforms.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in fundraising or advancement within an educational institution.
Familiarity with Staten Island and the surrounding community is preferred.
Proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is a plus.
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility for evenings and weekends based on event schedules. Must be able to lift and transport materials needed for event setup and teardown.
