POSITION SUMMARY
William Penn Charter School seeks a full-time Middle and Upper School French Teacher for the 2022-2023 academic year. Successful candidates must embrace student-centered pedagogy and technology use in the classroom, model curiosity and a desire for professional growth, and exhibit a desire to build positive and meaningful relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents in a manner consistent with the School's mission. Familiarity with the principles and practices of Quakerism and Quaker education is highly desirable. Essential Functions
- Demonstrate willingness to collaborate regularly with members of the French team and the Language and Culture Department
- Teach Middle School quarter classes of 6th grade French; 7th grade French (first part of French 1) and 8th grade French (second part of French 1)
- Teach one Upper School French 3 class
- Serve as an advisor to approximately eight Middle School students
- Participate in a co-curricular activity such as coaching, clubs, assisting with a theatrical performance or community service
- Attend meetings, comment writing, grade reporting and recess and lunch duties
- Demonstrate practices that directly reflect a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of service to Penn Charter

Required education and experience
- Near-native to native level fluency in French and ability to teach all levels
- Bachelor’s degree in French, Foreign Language Education or related field
- Prior teaching experience
- Knowledge of ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines and Integrated Performance Assessments is also required and experience using each is preferred
Preferred education and experience
- Familiarity with the principles and practices of Quakerism and Quaker education
- Previous experience teaching online or in a concurrent classroom model would be a plus
- Teacher Certification
- Master’s Degree in related education field
