Sayre School is seeking an Executive Assistant/Chief of Staff to the Head of School. The Executive Assistant is accessible, approachable, and welcoming, managing confidential situations with discretion, respect, and sensitivity. The ideal candidate should have superior interpersonal and communication skills, exhibit sound judgment, and be highly organized.
The candidate should have an active curiosity about schools and their mission, flexibility and a sense of humor. A knowledge of current software including (but not limited to) Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Apple iOS are essential, as is a willingness to learn new systems. Additional qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, excellent writing skills and experience working in an organization with multiple constituencies. This is an exciting time to be at Sayre and this new position, designed to evolve over time, serves a key role in supporting and implementing the strategic priorities of the school.

Key responsibilities
- Provide a variety of complex and confidential administrative, clerical and logistical support
- Direct special projects associated with strategic initiatives as assigned by the Head
- Draft, proofread and format documents and correspondence
- Manage the Head’s calendar
- Serve as a resource to the Board of Trustees, including the taking of minutes at all full board meetings
- Work with the Event Planning Coordinator to plan key events for the Head of School and the Board of Trustees
- Track and maintain expenses
- Ability to occasionally work outside of the work day for board meetings and special programs and events
Hours: 8 hours a day/12-month contract/Beginning November 15th
