Lead and grow a robust major gifts program at Viewpoint School, cultivating meaningful partnerships that fuel the School’s vision for excellence in the arts, athletics, and academics.
In partnership with Lindauer, Viewpoint School is seeking a Senior Major Gift Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned, motivated, and strategic fundraiser to join one of Southern California’s premier independent schools.
As Viewpoint prepares for a transformative capital campaign focused on the arts and athletics, this role will be pivotal in building a high-performing major gifts program that strengthens community engagement and supports ambitious institutional goals.
The Senior Major Gift Officer will join a forward-looking Advancement team at a moment of energy and possibility. This is a role for a collaborative, creative, and driven professional who thrives on building connections and shaping philanthropic vision.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of 150 prospects and secure five- and six-figure-plus gifts in support of annual, capital, and endowment priorities. • Develop and implement strategies that engage donors around athletics, one of Viewpoint’s signature programs. • Conduct donor meetings, cultivating meaningful relationships that advance campaign readiness. • Partner with Advancement leadership, athletic staff, and volunteers to design and execute effective donor engagement strategies. • Serve as a visible ambassador for Viewpoint at events, community gatherings, and athletic competitions.
Qualifications:
• 6+ years of progressive fundraising experience, ideally in education; independent school experience preferred. • Proven success cultivating, soliciting, and closing six-figure and higher gifts in annual, major, or campaign settings. • Expertise in moves management, prospect strategy, and donor stewardship with a data- driven approach. • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with volunteers. • Proficiency in CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge/NXT preferred) and comfort working in a digital, cloud-based environment.
Salary range: $120,000–$135,000, commensurate with experience.
