The Position
Chapin School Princeton is seeking a Mandarin teacher for grades PK-3 beginning Fall 2026 who is committed to nurturing and supporting elementary school aged students. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and creative Mandarin teacher with enthusiasm for working with elementary school students, a commitment to innovative pedagogy and collaboration with colleagues, and a comfort and familiarity with using relevant technology to enhance learning. The Mandarin teacher reports to the World Language Department Chair and the Lower School Director.
Responsibilities:
Teach four sections of Mandarin in grades PK-3.
Collaborate with colleagues to design and improve curriculum and engage students.
Supervisory duties related to recess, lunch, and other co-curricular programs.
Meet school guidelines regarding grading, recordkeeping, and use of the learning management system to post information about classes.
Participate in school-wide activities such as workshops, special events, and professional meetings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Teaching experience in elementary school preferred.
Knowledge of best practices in World Language learning.
Forward thinking and creative teacher.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Comfort with technology integration.
Experience with differentiated instruction.
Strong classroom management skills.
Commitment to collaborative and innovative teaching styles.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Experience working in independent schools preferred but not required.
