We are seeking a full-time Facilities Operations Specialist to serve as a key member of the Operations Department responsible for performing and overseeing skilled maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting work across plumbing, electrical, and general building and central utilities systems. This role supports the Director of Operations in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facility infrastructure.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise in both plumbing and electrical systems, along with a foundational understanding of building automation and HVAC systems. This position involves diagnosing and resolving complex maintenance issues, coordinating preventative maintenance programs, and supporting operational initiatives that promote energy efficiency and building performance. The Facilities Operations Specialist will collaborate closely with internal teams and external contractors to uphold high standards of safety, functionality, and compliance across all facilities.
Essential Functions:
- Assists with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all school buildings by performing a wide variety of skilled building maintenance and repairs which includes but are not limited to light construction, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, grounds work, furniture moves, and mechanical upkeep.
- Determines whether issues should be handled internally or with external contractors.
- Assists in keeping inventory and stocking adequate maintenance materials or equipment.
- As a member of the Operations team, work to meet community expectations for daily operations, events, special days, inclement weather response, etc.
- Maintains accurate and comprehensive records for all building maintenance and repairs.
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations, laws, and building codes.
- Assists with other emergency operations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Needs:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s license
- Prefer CFM, FMP, or journeyman electrician or journeyman plumber certification.
- At least 3 years of facility maintenance/repair experience inclusive of HVAC management, plumbing, and electrical.
- Computer experience with using Microsoft Office suite products, Adobe, and work order systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on the best interests of the campus community.
- Assist in capital planning for future renovations and equipment replacements related to building systems.
- Organized, detailed, and results oriented.
- Comfortable working both independently and with others
- Solid understanding of a variety of repair techniques & ability to use common power and hand tools.
- Ability to support multiple projects & changing priorities.
- Ability to ascend and descend a ladder to perform maintenance duties.
- Ability to work in a sometimes physically demanding job that includes walking & standing for extended periods of time & occasional heavy lifting (50lbs +)
- *Must be available for occasional weekend and evening school events.

Schedule and Compensation:
The work schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm*, 40 hours per week. This position is non-exempt (hourly) with a pay range of $35.00 – $40.00 per hour.
