Ravenscroft is seeking an Upper School History and Social Studies Teacher (2026–2027) in the Upper School History and Social Studies Department to contribute meaningfully to our student-centered, mission-driven community. This is a full-time, exempt, 10-month faculty position.
This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, collaborates thoughtfully, communities clearly and continuously reflects and grows as part of the school community.
What You'll Do
Teach a full course load (approximately five sections) of Upper School history and social studies, which may include World History, United States History, Economics, and/or Advanced Placement offerings.
Design and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction aligned with Ravenscroft’s mission and grounded in inquiry, critical thinking, and real-world application.
Create inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners through culturally responsive teaching and effective instructional practices.
Serve as an advisor to approximately 12 students, supporting their academic, social-emotional, and leadership development through the Lead From Here curriculum.
Collaborate with colleagues and utilize instructional technology (including Canvas and Veracross) to support student learning and departmental goals.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in History/Social Studies or History/Social Studies Education
Strong content knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching upper school history/social studies
Clear communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to working in a diverse, inclusive, and mission-aligned school community
Preferred:
Experience in a K–12 or independent school setting
Masters in History/Social Studies or MEd/MAT in History/Social Studies
Experience teaching core academic courses (including World History, American History and Economics either at the college prep or AP level) highly preferred
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This role is based on Ravenscroft’s campus and includes work in classrooms, and shared community spaces. The position requires the ability to move throughout campus, lead classrooms and use instructional technology regularly, and communicate effectively with students and colleagues. Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
