Position Summary
The Director of Inclusive Learning and Student Success supports students with diverse learning profiles and collaborates with faculty to implement effective instructional strategies. This individual plays a vital role in student success by promoting self-advocacy, differentiated instruction, and evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Instruction
Assess students’ learning profiles and develop Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs).
Provide targeted, small-group and one-on-one academic support.
Use assessment data to monitor progress and adjust interventions.
Promote executive functioning, metacognition, and self-advocacy skills.
Faculty & Family Collaboration
Partner with the leadership team, teachers, advisors, and student success coordinators to design and implement classroom accommodations.
Serve on Attrition Risk Management Team
Summarize psychoeducational evaluations for faculty and enrollment team.
Communicate regularly with families to share progress, recommendations, and strategies.
Advise families on external support and testing when needed.
Professional Development & Program Leadership
Serve as a resource for faculty on learning differences and instructional best practices.
Lead or support training sessions on differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom strategies.
Stay current with developments in educational psychology, assistive technology, and learning theory.
Maintain documentation of interventions, ILPs, and communications.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience as a learning specialist or in a similar student support role.
Deep understanding of IEP/504 plan processes and accommodation implementation.
Experience working with psychoeducational evaluations and formal assessments.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Special Education, Learning Disabilities, or a related field.
Independent school or boarding school experience.
Proficiency with assistive technologies and learning support software.
Commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy and inclusive practices.
