A DAY IN THE LIFE
Plan and deliver targeted English language arts and social studies instruction to two classes of six to eight students in 4th and/or 5th grade with learning differences
Communicate with colleagues and parents to provide an exceptional experience for all families
Engage in the continuous pursuit of lifelong personal and professional development and reflection
Observe, analyze, and pivot based on the needs of kids
Record, synthesize, and report progress in both formal and informal ways
Provide support to kids in the form of social coaching
Have fun teaching and learning - must love kids
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Bachelor's Degree required

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required, with teacher certification preferred • Three to five years of relative classroom experience required • Comfort in teaching a range of grade levels and content areas • Experience working with diverse learners • Knowledge of learning differences and the ability to differentiate instruction in the classroom based on those needs • Strong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form • Analytical approach to curriculum, instructional methods, and students • Flexibility as it relates to classroom management, pacing of curriculum, and student expectations • Compassion for students, parents, and colleagues
