The Grades 6–8 Religion Teacher plays a key role in fostering the spiritual and moral development of students while supporting their academic growth. This teacher actively contributes to the school’s Catholic identity and faith formation programs through both classroom instruction and community worship experiences.
Position Summary
Trinity School is seeking a qualified and faith-filled Grades 6–8 Religion Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year. This full-time position includes responsibility for teaching Religion across the middle school grades and participating in the spiritual life of the school community. The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic with strong theological knowledge, a passion for working with middle school students, and a desire to support Trinity’s mission of faith, learning, and service.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging Religion lessons based on the USCCB and Archdiocese of Baltimore curriculum guidelines.
Create a respectful, inclusive classroom environment that supports faith development and academic learning.
Set and uphold clear expectations for student learning, behavior, and achievement.
Integrate technology into instruction to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Serve as a homeroom advisor, supporting students’ social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Maintain an up-to-date electronic gradebook and regularly post assignments and resources on the school’s learning management system.
Respond to parent communication in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner.
Supervise students during daily routines such as arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and staff to support student success.
Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, retreats, and school committees.
Help plan and implement faith formation events such as school liturgies, prayer services, and retreats.
Lead the development and coordination of the Religion curriculum across grade levels.
Chair the School’s Mission and Ministry Committee.

Required Education & Experience
Practicing Catholic, fully able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church.
Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a closely related field.
Experience and comfort using educational technology tools in classroom instruction.
Preferred Education & Experience
Catechist certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience teaching at the middle school level.
Background in Catholic and/or independent school settings.
Skills & Competencies
Strong classroom management and student engagement strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective use of digital platforms for teaching and assessment.
Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
Working Conditions
