Description The Blake School seeks to hire a dynamic science teacher for grades 9-12 capable of teaching all levels of chemistry and physics beginning in the 2026-27 school year. This is a 1.0, benefits-eligible position. Applicant review will begin Dec. 15.
Essential Responsibilities
Teach four sections of a combination of chemistry, physics and possibly advanced science electives at various levels in the Upper School (grades 9-12)
Advise a group of 10-12 students
Hold conferences with students and parents in the fall and spring and write narrative comments for each student at the end of each semester
Participate in departmental, divisional and all-school initiatives and meetings

Undergraduate degree in science, science education or a related field with a strong preference for candidates who hold—or are actively pursuing—an advanced degree in a relevant discipline
Substantial professional experience in science education with preference given to candidates who have taught at the upper school (grades 9–12) level
Experience teaching STEM subjects with a solid foundation in climate literacy along with familiarity with modeling instruction and other inquiry-based pedagogies
