Position Summary
Springer High School seeks a Director of Academics and Learning who will lead academic programming, student learning, and faculty instruction for a dynamic, growing high school. This experienced, creative professional will develop and champion best-in-class programming and practices designed specifically for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia and ADHD, and who have challenges with executive functioning. Overseeing extracurricular programming and college/career planning will be taken into consideration based on candidate experience.
Job Goals
Design, coordinate, and support the delivery of best practices in academic programming for students with learning disabilities.
Oversee the further development of Springer High School’s three signature, specialized courses specifically designed for students with learning disabilities.
Support teachers in the ongoing development of best practices in student learning.
Embrace a team approach to supporting student growth.
Develop meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Contribute to the health and wellbeing of the broader Springer community.
Required Qualifications
Experience working directly with students diagnosed with learning disabilities.
Experience developing specialized programs and practices for students diagnosed with learning disabilities.
Experience serving as a coach and mentor to teachers.
Knowledge of best practices for students with learning disabilities.
Experience contributing to the development of a positive school culture.
The proven ability to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with students and families.
A positive outlook on problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as an independent school teacher or administrator.
Experience as a coach/mentor of teachers.
A background in curriculum design, designing elective offerings and/or technology implementation.
Experience overseeing extracurricular programming and college/career planning in an independent school for students diagnosed with learning disabilities.

Terms of Employment: Full-time school year, part-time summer months
