Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to teach Computer Science at the high school level, with opportunities to develop and support courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will not only have a strong technical foundation and a passion for teaching, but also the creativity and leadership to take our program to the next level.
In keeping with our Mission — Lead with Kindness, Act with Courage — and our Vision of empowering students through a distinctive curriculum, an enriching environment, and an expert faculty, the successful candidate will foster a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, inclusivity, and responsible innovation. They will inspire students to grow as learners, remain engaged in Computer Science throughout their high school journey, and see themselves as creators of technology, not just consumers.
The teacher will also work closely with the Coordinator for AI, Data Science, and Robotics to design original curriculum, enrich course offerings, and expand opportunities for students in computing, robotics, and interdisciplinary applications.
Key Responsibilities
Teach introductory and advanced Computer Science courses, with potential focus areas in AI and Data Science.
Design and develop original curriculum that reflects best practices in computer science education and prepares students for future study and careers.
Collaborate with the Coordinator for AI, Data Science, and Robotics to enrich course offerings, expand interdisciplinary opportunities, and grow the overall Computer Science program.
Inspire and retain student interest in Computer Science, encouraging continued engagement in the program throughout high school.
Create engaging, project-based learning experiences that emphasize real-world applications, innovation, and ethical use of technology.
Foster a classroom environment that values curiosity, creativity, equity, and inclusivity, aligned with the school’s mission and vision.
Stay current with developments in Computer Science, AI, and Data Science education through ongoing professional learning and professional engagement.

Minimum Degree Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Technology OR
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution with demonstrated proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.) through coursework, certification, or professional experience.
Preferred but Not Required
Demonstrated proficiency in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Data Science and relevant tools/libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, pandas, NumPy).
Experience integrating computational thinking, problem solving, and ethical considerations of AI into secondary education.
Graduate-level coursework or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Desired Experience
In addition to technical expertise, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related subjects at the secondary or post-secondary level.
Curriculum Development: Ability to design and implement innovative computer science courses, ideally including components in AI, Data Science, or emerging technologies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Ability to work across disciplines (math, science, humanities, arts) to integrate computational thinking, data literacy, and ethical considerations of AI into the broader curriculum.
