Salary Details:

Job Description
The High School Associate Principal will work under the guidance of the High School Principal to proactively further divisional initiatives and the mission, vision, values, learning principles, and applied learning initiatives of the KIS community school-wide. In addition, in partnership with other leadership team members, the associate principal will provide direction and support for students, parents, faculty, and staff to nurture a thriving, inclusive learning environment. KIS principals are responsible for strategic planning, curriculum development, program evaluation, co-curricular activities, personnel management, financial management, safeguarding and emergency response, resource scheduling, and facilities operations in coordination with other building and schoolwide administrators.
Reports to: High School Principal
Key Responsibilities
Student Well-being and Development:
Pastoral care for a large segment of the High School Population (grades, attendance, discipline), including contact with students, parents, counselors, faculty, and other support staff
Logistics and organization of High School student leadership and development, including support of our high school clubs, activities, and organizations
Manage daily school operations professionally and effectively to ensure the well-being of members of the school community
Ensure an inclusive, equitable, and student-centered school environment in which students can achieve academic excellence
Academic and Curriculum Leadership:
Testing coordinator (including but not limited to AP, PSAT, and school exams)
Oversight of several high school departments in terms of faculty goal setting and teacher evaluation, alignment of department agendas with school-wide goals
Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the Common Core curriculum and in additional curricula used in the high school (NGSS, AP, ISCA, ACTFL, etc.)
Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in standards-based grading
School Culture and Community:
In conjunction with the Principal and other School Associate Principals, leadership in school climate, culture, and community initiatives
Create and maintain a positive school culture of personalized learning options for students and staff
Respect independent thought, cultural diversity, and commit to equity and inclusion
Faculty and Staff Development:
Facilitate hiring process, employee induction, and professional development based upon strategic review of needs assessment and outcome data
Mentor and empower teacher leaders
Contract Terms
Begins August 1, 2026
The initial contract will be for a period of three (3) years
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Education
Administrative certification
A minimum of three years of school leadership (previous Associate Principal experience or similar is strongly preferred)
Relevant experience in administration/Leadership
Experience teaching at multiple grade levels
Ability to obtain a work visa in Korea (successful completion of a drug screening process per Korean law)
Preferred:
Master's degree in a relevant field
Training and experience in working with second language learners
Experience with a solution-based approach to problem-solving, restorative practices
