We’re seeking a dynamic and organized After-school Director to lead our thriving extended-day programs—Beyond the Bell, Break Camps, Clubs, and Summer Camp. This is a unique opportunity to shape a robust program that engages over 80 students daily, leads a team of staff and vendors, and provides joyful learning beyond the classroom walls.
Position Overview
The After-school Director designs, implements, and manages all after-school, break, and summer programs for students in preschool through grade 8. This includes overseeing appx. 5 staff, coordinating with 15+ vendors, and ensuring high-quality programming and smooth operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who brings energy, creativity, and precision to every aspect of planning, execution, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
Oversee daily Beyond the Bell extended-day program
Develop and run full-day Break Camps during school vacations
Curate and manage afterschool clubs across three seasonal terms
Plan and lead a themed, multi-week Summer Camp
Staffing and Supervision
Hire, train, and supervise all after-school and camp staff
Conduct weekly team meetings and provide professional development
Serve as lead teacher during Beyond the Bell hours
Operations and Logistics
Handle registration, scheduling, room assignments, and daily attendance
Manage program budgets, vendor contracts, and supply procurement
Submit staff hours and ensure accurate payroll processes
Parent and Vendor Communication
Coordinate all correspondence with families, vendors, and internal teams
Manage program announcements and schedule changes using digital platforms
Collaborate with the Marketing Director to promote programs across channels
Additional Duties
Support schoolwide events and athletics (e.g. basketball home games)
Assist with occasional subbing or school operations as needed

Daily
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (includes Beyond the Bell from 2:00 – 6:00 PM)
1–2 weekly lunch duties
Annual
Begins in August with orientation and continues through end of summer camp in mid July
Two weeks of flexible planning time during the summer
Vacation includes 2 flexible days in fall and 2 in spring, plus all school closures without programming
Monthly
Participation in key events such as Parent Conferences, Curriculum Night, and PTO socials
Staff development and other schoolwide events as needed
Qualifications
Proven experience managing youth programs, camps, or after-school education
Strong organizational and communication skills
Able to lead a team while multitasking in a dynamic environment
Familiarity with platforms like Hi Sawyer, Mailchimp, and Google Workspace preferred
Bachelor's degree required; relevant graduate coursework a plus
