What You’ll Do 

Avenues is seeking an Operations Assistant for its Extensions Program on the New York campus. The Operations Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day functioning of our after-school and summer programs. This position ensures smooth operations by coordinating logistics, managing key systems, and providing general administrative support to the department. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, independent environment.

As the Operations Assistant you will: 

Program Operations & Logistics

• Support daily operations of after-school and summer programs, ensuring smooth execution of schedules and activities
• Manage arrival and dismissal procedures, including student check-in/out, transportation coordination, and parent communication
• Ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are organized, distributed, and restocked as needed
• Ensure compliance with school policies and licensing/regulatory requirements (e.g., sign-in/out procedures, ratio tracking)
• Monitor enrollment and ensure all systems are consistently updated.

Communication & Customer Service

• Serve as the  point of contact for families, students, and staff during program hours
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding logistics, schedules, incidents, and updates
• Maintain strong relationships with faculty and program staff to ensure alignment on needs and responsibilities
• Respond to emails and phone inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Staff & Program Support

• Support the onboarding and coordination of part-time program staff and instructors
• Provide occasional classroom coverage or supervision support when needed
• Help implement systems that streamline daily operations (checklists, procedures, supply tracking)
• Assist in managing rosters, enrollment lists, and other program documentation

If hired for this position, the annual salary range is between $55,000 - $65,000. The salary may vary depending on your professional experience and skills.
