Position Summary:
Whitby Montessori Children’s House seeks a warm, enthusiastic full?time teacher for our Primary Program (ages 3–6). The teacher will work within a team to deliver developmentally appropriate instruction, monitor and assess student progress, and communicate regularly with colleagues and families. Montessori pedagogy is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons for ages 3–6
Support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in a prepared classroom
Use observation and assessment to monitor growth and inform instruction
Collaborate closely with team teachers; participate in meetings and planning
Communicate progress to parents via conferences and written reports
Supervise daily routines (arrival/dismissal, lunch, recess) and maintain a safe, organized classroom
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, or actively working toward completion
Early childhood teaching experience; Montessori experience desirable
Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Positive, open, and professional approach with students, families, and staff
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Satisfactory completion of a pre?employment background check
