Located on the Upper East Side of New York City, the Lycée Français de New York is an accredited private school committed to bilingual French and American education of the highest standard. Our mission is to prepare students of many origins to be thinkers, innovators and leaders, at home in the world.
The Lycée is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Elementary English teacher for a leave coverage position beginning in January 2026. We are looking for a teacher who:
- has an MA and/or has completed a graduate program in education (must be from an English-speaking university)
- has at least 2 years experience teaching (experience in grades 1-5 is prioritized)
- has training/background in English/ ELA
- is adaptable, flexible and willing to teach several different grades
- is willing to teach students with different language proficiency levels (ELL, intermediate, and native proficiency)
- has strong writing and speaking skills
- believes in differentiation in the classroom
- is innovative and technology-savvy
- enjoys collaborating on curriculum and project-based learning
- has a commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging
Knowledge of French a plus
Annual Salary Range: $73,576 – $123,417
