Lucy School, an arts-integrated, nature-centered independent school in beautiful Middletown, Maryland, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Math Teacher for grades 5–8. This position is ideal for an educator who brings both strong content knowledge and a creative, student-centered approach to teaching mathematics—particularly an educator capable of teaching pre-Algebra and Algebra I.

You are a teacher who:

• Has experience teaching upper elementary and middle school math (Grades 5–8).

• Is comfortable teaching Algebra I and supporting a range of math learners.

• Believes in integrating the arts and outdoor experiences into academic learning.

• Sees math not just as numbers and operations, but as a creative, relevant, and exciting subject.

• Enjoys working in a small school setting where teachers collaborate across disciplines and grade levels.

• Embraces the joys (and mud!) of nature-based education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• Experience teaching math at the upper elementary or middle school level.

• Familiarity with or interest in arts integration and outdoor learning.
