Mason Preparatory School is an independent Pre K-8th school dedicated to educating the whole child through strong relationships, academic excellence, and an engaging, student-centered learning environment. Mason Preparatory School is seeking a qualified Upper School Math Teacher that can provide primary supervisory and instructional responsibility in the classroom.
Position Details:
Title: Upper School Math Teacher (4th-8th)
Classification: Exempt (Salaried)
Reports to: Head of School
Schedule: Full-Time; 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for school events.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
- State teacher certification required (i.e. Early Childhood, Elementary, or Middle School)
- Proficient knowledge of curriculum and effective instructional practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with school constituencies, students, and parents
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of School, the Upper School Math Teacher will:
- Provide high-quality classroom instruction that meets or exceeds South Carolina state standards while maintaining a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Plan and deliver interesting and creative, multi-sensory lessons (kinesthetic, tactile, auditory, and visual)
- Build on effective presentation techniques, provide adequate comprehension checks, reinforce and re-teach materials as necessary
- Maintain clear and professional communication with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
- Report necessary matters to the Head of School and implement discipline policies with fairness and consistency
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Actively participate in school life, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Seek professional development opportunities to maintain current knowledge in areas of expertise and enhance quality of instruction.
- Comply with all Mason Preparatory School policies and procedures as outlined in faculty, student, and employee handbooks.
