The Montessori Enrichment (ME) Team Member floater is responsible for all aspects related to delivering quality lunch, nap & afterschool (Extended Care) programming for the students under the ME Team member floaters’ charge, utilizing the best principles and practices based on the Montessori tradition of education. The ME Team member floater conforms to all Virginia Department of Education regulations and policies while maintaining programming that reflects our mission and the core Montessori philosophy of respect for the individual learner, preparation of the environment, fostering independence, order and concentration in the student, respect for sensitive periods, recognizing intrinsic motivation and the absorbent mind.
In this role, you’ll get to:
Keep informed and support the Montessori approach to education in classrooms and programs
Work with children ages three years to eighth grade
Prepare the classroom environment for independence, exploration, and engaging activities
Care for all materials and furnishings purchased by RMS for use in the classroom
Ensure that materials in use are kept attractive and clean
Supervise children both indoors and outdoors
Maintain order and cleanliness of the classroom environment
Assist in preparing the written Montessori Enrichment progress reports
Relay pertinent information and observations to the Director of Montessori Enrichment.
Complete various forms such as self evaluations and accident report forms.
Work alongside other team members

CPR/First Aid certified (RMS will cover training and certification costs)
Minimum of two years classroom experience with students at class level assignment.
A bachelor’s degree and experience in a Montessori setting is preferred.
Experience with licensed childcare program standards and working with children is beneficial.
