The Exceptional Student Education Teacher at North Broward Preparatory School’s Lighthouse Point Academy plays a vital role in supporting students with mild-to-moderate learning differences. This educator works closely with the Division Principal and Academy Director to ensure students’ academic, social, and emotional needs are met. Collaboration is central to the role, involving regular communication with colleagues, school counselors and parents.
The ideal candidate will have experience in exceptional student education or a related field and a strong commitment to differentiated instruction and fostering student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement personalized support plans and accommodations.
Plan and manage curricula while adapting to changing student needs and priorities.
Support behavioral and academic interventions and monitor student progress.
Interpret and apply recommendations from Neuropsychological and Educational Evaluations.
Promote social-emotional development and a positive school culture.
Attend and contribute to professional development sessions, school functions, and meetings.

Experience and certification in Exceptional Student Education, K-12 Education, or related field
3+ years experience working in a school-setting
Ability to read, understand, and interpret psychoeducational evaluations
Commitment to building effective partnerships with parents and students
Excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks
Good cross-cultural, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact with diverse nationalities and cultures
