 During a time of strength, momentum, and growth, McCallie seeks an experienced and dynamic  Assistant Director of Data Operations , as part of McCallie&#8217;s  Information Technology &#38; Systems  team.&#xa0; 
 The Assistant Director of Data Operations oversees McCallie&#8217;s &quot;Information Systems.&#8221; This role is responsible for the stability, integrity, and management of the school&#8217;s core enterprise applications&#8212;specifically the Student Information System (Veracross) and Advancement CRM (Advancement RM (Affinaquest)). 
 Beyond daily operations, this individual is charged with executing the school&#8217;s strategic vision to create a unified, organization-wide data strategy. They will transition the school&#8217;s data from various systems into a trusted framework that helps inform decision-making, enhances operational efficiency, and supports the school&#8217;s mission. 
 This is a 12-month, full-time position. It is considered exempt under the FLSA, and it is eligible for full benefits. 
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
 1. Enterprise Application Management (Core Operations) System Administration : Serve as the primary backend administrator for Veracross and Advancement RM (Affinaquest). Manage system configurations, updates, and backend processes to ensure high availability and performance. Lifecycle &#38; Seasonal Operations : Plan and execute critical annual lifecycle events, including the academic year rollover, enrollment/re-enrollment setup, and seasonal term transitions. Data Integrity : Oversee data accuracy and continuity across all departments, ensuring that Admission, Advancement, Athletics, the Business Office, and other key operational units have consistent and reliable information. Vendor &#38; Partner Management : Direct vendor partnerships related to data systems, managing contracts, service level agreements, and support tickets to resolve issues rapidly. 
 2. Strategic Data Leadership &#38; Governance Unified Data Strategy : Design and implement an organization-wide data strategy that bridges the gap between academic and operational systems. Governance &#38; Auditing : Audit existing data repositories to identify authoritative data sources. Establish and enforce governance policies that clarify ownership, access, and maintenance responsibilities for all institutional data. 
 3. Team &#38; Project Management Staff Supervision : Manage the Systems Developer, including assigning priorities, conducting code reviews, and guiding professional development to align programming efforts with institutional needs. Project Lifecycle Management : Oversee the full lifecycle of software and data projects&#8212;from requirements gathering and design to testing and implementation&#8212;so that projects are delivered on time and within scope. Cybersecurity Alignment : Coordinate with the Director of Technology to ensure all data practices comply with the school&#8217;s cybersecurity, identity management, and access control practices. 
 4. Business Intelligence &#38; Workflow Optimization Process Analysis : Meet regularly with department heads and stakeholders to document business needs. Analyze existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions that modernize or automate manual processes. Institutional Insight : Develop and maintain analytics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that provide school leadership with actionable academic, operational, and business insights. Feasibility Assessment : Evaluate requests for new software or custom development to determine technical feasibility, return on investment, and alignment with the long-term strategic plan. Experience: 
 
 At least 5 years experience administering enterprise-level databases or information systems (experience with Veracross or Advancement RM (Affinaquest)/Salesforce is highly preferred). 
 Experience in a leadership or management role, specifically overseeing technical projects or personnel. 
 Demonstrated history of analyzing business processes and implementing technological solutions to improve efficiency. 
 
 Technical Skills: 
 
 Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and API integrations. Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and software development lifecycles. 
 Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear language for non-technical administrators and stakeholders. 
 
 Education: 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

 Work Environment 
 
 This position operates in a professional office environment within the school campus and remotely when required. 
 Collaborates closely with the &quot;IT Operations&quot; wing to ensure software and hardware infrastructure work in harmony.</description>

Reporting to the CFOO, the CTO will manage a team of approximately 5&#8211;6 IT/IS professionals that for the last two years have been working in two completely separate functional units, one for each campus. This new, unified team will include full-time support roles on both campuses and centralized services roles in network, systems, and database management. The CTO will be an important partner to the instructional technology team, which reports up to other academic administrators, and the CTO will have an important voice on all-school instructional technology strategy. While contributing to instructional technology vision is important, the primary focal points for the CTO for the first one or two years will be to ensure that the IT/IS team is cohesively and comprehensively serving both campuses, and that technology operations are as seamless as possible for end users across the school.
