The Director of Residential Life leads the residential boarding program and is ultimately responsible for the wellbeing of its students and staff; training, oversight, and development of its staff; fiscal responsibility for its programs and initiatives; and participating in the marketing of the program and recruitment of its members. As a member of the WPS Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Residential Life demonstrates the leadership and professionalism needed to carry out the mission and vision of the school. 

***This is a live-in, 12-month position that includes housing. 

Program Leadership

• Oversee the academic, social, health and welfare of students in the Residential Life Program;
• Ensure the proper development of all residential weekend and weekday programming and activities;
• Recruit, develop, and evaluate the residential staff;
• Manage residential student welfare and discipline;
• Oversee residential parent communication and satisfaction;
• Collaborate with the school leadership team on boarding related issues;
• Manage the residential program’s budget;
• Partner with admissions team and Global Recruitment Team to achieve yearly enrollment targets;
• Promote the residential program within the school community;
• Supervise, schedule and train Resident Assistants;
• Coordinate residential student arrivals and departures;
• Plan and execute annual ResLife trips during Thanksgiving week and Spring Break;

• Promote a positive, caring climate.
• Foster collegiality and team building among staff members. Encourage their active involvement in the decision-making process.

• Communicate frequently and build positive relationships with parents.

Student Support and Management

• Help support a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior and enhances the school climate.
• Ensure that school rules are uniformly applied and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with the student handbook.
• Conduct conferences about student and school issues with parents, students, and staff.
• Review academic performance on a regular basis to identify students who are underachieving; collaborate with team members to establish appropriate support. 
• Ensure open communication with parents regarding academic performance and social and emotional wellbeing.  

School/Community Relations

• Articulate the school’s mission and vision to the community and inspire support in realizing the goals for the community.
• Demonstrate an awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs using appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parental involvement.
• Travel internationally and domestically to recruit students to the program and meet with families of existing students.

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education or related field preferred.
• 3+ years experience in boarding school leadership.

• Must have ability to live in the Residential Boarding Facility
• Bilingual Preferred
• Experience with the International Baccalaureate Programme
• Proficient with Microsoft and Google Suite Platform
