Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy in the search for a Director of Development.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development will play a central role in driving growth, engagement, and sustainability across all fundraising initiatives for Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy (CGLA) and Montessori Elementary at Highland Park (MEHP). The Director of Development will oversee the implementation of a comprehensive development plan, guiding annual giving, major gifts, grants, and special events with strategic oversight and measurable outcomes. By partnering closely with the CEO, board, and community stakeholders, the Director of Development will ensure the cultivation and stewardship of meaningful donor relationships, expand the organization's visibility and reach, and strengthen its capacity to meet and exceed ambitious funding goals. Through targeted leadership, data-informed decision-making, and collaborative engagement, the Director of Development will help secure the financial foundation necessary for CGLA's and MEHP's continued impact and mission fulfillment.
The Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, a Title I school, is a single gender, small learning community for girls in grades 6-12. The college preparation curriculum is centered on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). CGLA offers girls an accelerated and integrated remediation approach that is intended to move them to proficient and advanced levels within core academic subjects. A range of social supports that reflects girls' social development needs are integrated into the educational experience. Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy provides girls and young women with a rigorous college preparatory education focused on science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math in a supportive environment that nurtures self-confidence, inspires leadership, encourages critical thinking, and promotes academic excellence. CGLA has a vision to inspire hope in each girl, positively changing her trajectory in life, and empowering her to possess infinite choices in the future.
Montessori Elementary at Highland Park embarked on its fourth school year in August 2024 with 372 students who are predominantly minority and low-income: 64% African American, 18.5% Latino, and over 75% low-income. Over the next two years, MEHP will grow to serve 480 children from PreK3 to 5th grade through a dynamic, participatory environment integrating Montessori education with experiential learning grounded in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. MEHP's mission is to cultivate ambitious, fearless learners through intellectually stimulating, interactive experiences that awaken curiosity, nurture advanced thinking, and promote independence. By providing early childhood education opportunities for at-risk children — beginning at age 3 — MEHP believes it can have an even greater impact on children in Hamilton County.
A bachelor's degree and at least five years of fundraising or donor relations experience is preferred for this position. Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to CGLA, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply. All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and résumé. Cover letters should be responsive to the mission of Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy and the responsibilities and competencies presented in the position prospectus.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 annually.
Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy is committed to the inclusion of all qualified candidates. If you require reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, or participating in the selection process, please contact Kim Farr at kimfarr@aspenleadershipgroup.com.
