We are seeking a Physical Education Leave Replacement Teacher to start immediately and serve through June 2026. This position involves teaching physical education classes across a range of grade levels and includes coaching responsibilities. Candidates should align with the values and ethics of The Dalton School. The Physical Education Teacher will report to the Physical Education Department Chair and the Director of Athletics and Physical Education.
Responsibilities:
Teach multiple sections of physical education for students in grades 3 through 12.
Plan, implement, and revise physical education curriculum as needed.
Maintain clear communication with colleagues, students, and parents.
Coach middle school and high school teams across three seasons.
Demonstrate the ability to coach at least one varsity-level sport.
Fulfill additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in physical education or a related field is preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.
Flexibility in scheduling to meet coaching and teaching responsibilities.
Prior experience teaching physical education is preferred.
