At Tessa International School, we offer three language tracks: Spanish, French, and Mandarin, and are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) and the French Ministry of Education. We are also recognized as a NAIS model school.
As an Interim Primary Mandarin Lead Teacher, you'll cover a Lead Teacher's maternity leave from mid-January to the end of June, with the potential for a future position. By joining our vibrant educational community, you will play a key role in shaping the learning journey of our students, with a strong focus on academic excellence and social-emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that connect classroom learning to real-world experiences, inspiring enthusiasm and academic excellence in line with IB and state standards.
- Differentiating instruction using a variety of developmentally appropriate teaching and assessment methods to meet the needs of all learners.
- Monitoring and supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of students.
- Maintaining high expectations for student behavior to ensure a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Fostering a strong sense of community by actively engaging with students, colleagues, and families.
- Collaborating constructively with colleagues, leadership, and staff across the school.
- Pursuing ongoing professional growth and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participating in curriculum development, team planning, and faculty meetings.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Excellent command of both Mandarin and English.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching primary-age students.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education preferred.
- Experience with the IB PYP and/or dual language programs preferred.
- A true passion for teaching and inspiring young learners.

Salary:
- $5,500-$5,700/month, commensurate with experience.
