Montclair Kimberley Academy, an innovative JK–12 independent day school with a strong national reputation, seeks a part-time (20 hours/week) Laboratory Technician to help maintain our lab spaces and collaborate with teachers on lab activities. The position is an outstanding opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student interested in science education, an early-career teacher, or a retired professional. Work days and hours are flexible as long as work is completed during the 7:30 am - 4:00 pm school day.
Responsibilities may include:
setting up, breaking down, and organizing existing labs and lab preparation areas;
performing safety checks and assisting with student safety during lab periods;
helping to maintain chemical inventory and ordering laboratory and office supplies; and
assisting with the maintenance of our Green Roof
Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:
BS or currently enrolled undergraduate in Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
Laboratory experience preferred.
Experience working with students is a plus.
